Job Description: Big Brother/Sister

Help prepare the apartment before arrival of the newcomers.
Stock refrigerator and arrange meals for the first few days on their own.
Go with them to shop for groceries locally.
Provide a local map and orient them to public transportation.
Show them what to do and where to go if they have a medical emergency.
Take them shopping for major items needed, for example: beds/table and chairs/kitchen items.
Be at the first L&O welcome meeting to receive other possible responsibilities of delegated tasks as appropriate.
Take them to the next regional SEND meeting.
Contact them every day for the first week and at least weekly for the next few months.
Be available for encouragement and help during the first year on the field.
